why the Fn light on my m-45 toshiba laptop turns on without pressing the button?

my laptop is Toshiba m-45. when the Fn button turns on it gives me a strange functions like, the letter on the keyboard don't work ,or i type letters to get numbers instead.

Fn-F10 and Fn-F11 are the keys which turn overlay and numlock on. Press one of those combinations until the lights are out when Fn isn't pushed and you won't have the problems with the numpad embedded in the keyboard giving you strange behaviour when you try to type letters.
