What does Horlicks suppose to work on? I only know its a malty drink that fills up your stomach.

No, it does work.
After a cup of that I'm out for the count!
Also try Valerian (herbal remedy) last thing at night or 5htp if you're experiencing ongoing problems and nothing else is working.

by work i assume you mean does it help you sleep? in which case yes it does, then again so does many other hot milky drinks. The best I have ever found was Kahlua and hot milk - drunk through a straw - lovely

No.It is gimmic.One of the multinational products that survive on advertisement.The main content is wheat powder.If you drink milk with wheat powder ,it may give same effect of horlicks.
