(4/5) x - 7 / 3 = (5/3)x + 1
12x - 35 = 25x + 15
13x = - 50
x = - 50 / 13

4/5x -7/3 = 5/3x + 1
4/5x-5/3x=7/3+1
-13/15x=10/3
x=-50/13

4/5x-7/3=5/3x+1 can be done like this
first,collect like terms
4/5x-5/3x=1+7/3
-13/15x=10/3
cross multiply
-39x=150
x=-150/39

4/5x -- 7/3 = 5/3x + 1 multiply by 15x
=> 12 -- 35x = 25 + 15x
=> 50x = -- 13
=> x = -- 13/50 = -- 0.26

Hi,
When dealing with equation, you can move the Left hand side (LHS) to the Right hand side (RHS) by inversing it
"What is LHS and RHS? Which are they?" you may ask.
Based on this:
a + b = c + d
The LHS is:
a + b
The RHS is:
c + d
Now, if you want to move RHS to LHS, you have to inverse it so that:
a + b = c + d
a + b - c = d
or
a * b = c * d
a * b / c = d
Now, let's answer your question:
4/5x -7/3 = 5/3x + 1
If we multiply the LHS & RHS by 15x, this is what we get:
15x* (4/5x -7/3) = (5/3x + 1)*15x
12 - 35x = 25 + 15x
12 - 35x -15x = 25
-50x = 25 - 12
-50x = 13
x = 13/-50
x = -0.26
=====================
Answer: x = -13/50 = -0.26
=====================
Hope this helps.
Kind regard,
Ryonn

Transpose the equation so that the unknown (x) is on the left and the whole numbers are on the right hand side. It is then straightforward. The answer I got was x = -3/50 or -0.06.
