Or can you use the same wires that electricians run along unfinished spaces? Thanks.

There is no special cable required or available for fishing through walls. You can use any wiring method allowed by the National, State, and Local codes for the building in question. I say that because none of us know what type of building it is, how many floors it has, or where you are located. All those things can change the answer.

If this is in your residence which I assume it is, you may use NM type cable. The jackets are color coded for ease of use too. White is 14/2 w grnd for 15 amp circuits. Yellow is 12/2 w grnd for 20 amp circuits and Orange is 10/2 w grnd for 30 amp Circuits. Hope this helps.

Some local codes require that you use B/X but I dont think that's the case here Romex is fine in most places. Just check if you can, what is used in your home already.

You can rent a fish tape. It is so much easier to get in and around the conduit. Don't bother trying to use somethng else. You'll get frustrated.

You need one of these:

It's a fish tape. Run it where you need, connect to wire, pull wire back through.
