It totally depends on the situation. You must forgive or you are the one who carries that burden around with you and it will continue to bring you down. Besides if you don' t then the person who hurt you will forever haunt you.
The forgetting part depends on the severity of the situation. Some things are not worth remembering because a friendship or relationship is worth more that that. If it's extremely hurtful, however, you'd be a fool to just "forget".
I love the old saying ...
"Fool me once same on you ... fool me twice ~ shame on me!"

well i just forgive and forget. but then there are times when i forgive but don't forget. Most of the time it just depends on who the person is

I have difficulty with both actually. I've gotten much better at forgiving in the last couple of years, but have a harder time forgetting. Some things, however, one should not forget, or they will happen to you again.

I usually forgive but have trouble forgetting and in my opinion I don't think it's always wise to forget.

I forgive but i'll never forget. Esspecially if someone did something that's basically not forgetable.
