I don't think being a tomboy is a reliable indication of being gay - different people just have different interests. Same goes for kids - not all girls want to have tea parties and dance, a lot of them want to play sport. Also, I don't think only having brothers makes you boyish. If anything, there's more of a chance that parents will treat an only girl like a little princess!

U might behave boyish and still doesnt mean u will be gay. Pls be patient with ur self, wait until u get to know many boys and to ur self. Before u decide u have to try having a long term relationship with a boy.

I think it is a way to be apart of the family that you feel you need to act out to be accepted. Also being a tom boy is just getting to know that you have all the strength and talent of any boy/man plus the ability to compete in this world of competition.Being a girl doest make you weaker but stronger because you have to compete in a world that had been and is controlled by men.

A girl can be "boyish" and still be completely heterosexual. I am, in fact.
I've never looked comfortable in a dress, not even when I was an infant (one of my mom's favorite stories). I'm not athletic, but I like to get my hands dirty. I was an only child. I played with baby dolls and toy trucks. And I've only ever been sexually attracted to men (and I am engaged to and living with one now) :)
So no, I don't think sexual orientation has much, if anything, to do with upbringing.

I grew up with two sisters. One was girly and one was a major tomboy who played every sport and had short hair for most of her youth. Since then she has had many hetero relationships and I think will soon be engaged.
If you are concerned about someone, just keep an eye on them and teach them to be themselves. If you help her understand that homosexuality is normal, then she will develop her feelings on the situation faster...but like my sister she may just be a heterosexual tom boy!
Hope that helps!

Not necessarily. I have a friend who was a total tomboy as a young girl...ran around with her brothers with her shirt off and the whole bit. She's getting married next weekend...to a guy. :) She's totally straight so I don't think there's a hard and fast distinction about that.

i hope not. Girls are off all type's, and well! most of us boy's appreciate this ever flowerings variety. Don't go being Gay because of stereotypes, that's a whole other question. Look at all those effeminate boys dawning the screens, girls go gag for them. and on a personal note, some of us really, REALLY!! like tomboys, (again, image Homer Drooling)..

Hi,
I have 6 brothers, I have always been a tomboy, and I am about as straight as it gets. Just the thought of intimacy with another woman makes me want to gag. So, my answer to your question is: no.

All the farm girls I grew up with were tom boys. None were lesbian. A few of the rough tough farm boys were gay or bi. There goes your theory.
