The solution I bought does not have a brand name but the store had a good supply, so I thought it would be ok, but, unfortunately my screen still shows streaks.

You can try a mixture of Isopropyl alcohol diluted with distilled water. Make SURE that you buy real Isopropyl alcohol (sometimes called IPA) and not "rubbing alcohol". Rubbing alcohol is usually only 70 - 80 percent pure, Isopropyl alcohol is over 99 percent pure. Use the same kind of cloth you would clean your eyeglasses with. Hope this helps,it cleaned my Toshiba notebook screen just fine after I used glass cleaner on it (very bad move!)

First try a soft cloth (cotton or microfiber) dampened with water.

Then try it with a soft soap solution (liquid hand soap)

If that does not work try the same cloth with iso-propyl alcohol.

Do not use:
paper towels as they are actually quite abrasive.
dish detergent. It has abrasive particles in it.
glass cleaners or other household cleaners as these can have agressive chemicals in them.
