It's sort of a tie...I think. Because physical pain can drive you CRAZY! I've battled with depression though, so I definitely have experienced emotional pain as well...and it sucks! Which do you think is worse?

I think emotional pain is a lot worse and I have a lot of physical pain because I have Fibromyalgia. It's a terrible, terrible feeling when your heart is breaking or if you are struggling with depression or anxiety. And with emotional pain it's sometimes hard to understand why we are feeling a certain way sometimes. At least, we can somewhat understand why we have physical pain and I think that pain killers help physical pain and not a lot helps the emotional pain that we go through.

I use to think emotional, but I would now say it is physical. Emotional pain will go away after a while, but physical pain sometimes doesn't, unless you get medication or proper treatment.

Hello,
I had experiences both the pain as i was suffering from stone and i think u know about pain of it. and i have experiences emotional pain too.

according to me physical pain is far batter than emotional pain as you can get some relief in physical pain by medicine and there is some control in your hand. where as in emotional pain u cant do any thing, there is no medicine or anything which give relief in that pain. only one thing can help and that is the person who gave the pain. or the reason by which u r suffering from emotional pain.

i always pray to god, as never give pain to any one either it is physical or emotional.

Totally depends on the person,
Some people have strong thresholds on physical pain.
Some people have strong spirits and can last emotionally.

Its the Mighty people who can stand both =p

Personally, I think emotional is worse.
Hurting inside is worse than cringing over stitches

Temporary cures are :
Emotional - Alcohol
Physical - Tylenol, & hey, Alcohol again !

Bye

I look at it this way, they go hand in hand often if one or the other types is bad enough, ex. So you are really depressed - emotionally - so you end up trying to kill yourself or do some cutting. Then you are - physically - hurt as well and can't believe you did something that stupid fueling your depression and restarting the cycle. Now that doesn't apply to every situation since sometime it can be either that is harder to get over just depending on the severity.

Frankly, I'd rather have my femur hacked out with a dull and dirty hatchet than suffer depression or other emotional pain. At least you can understand physical pain and its outcome. Emotional pain is infinitely more painful.

Emotional pain I was abused throughout my life and I saw my grandmother go through physical pain for 7 years from lung cancer and all she could tell me was she was glad she wasn't me because physical pain never lasts forever but emotional pain scars you forever

Aww yeah, I'd say emotional pain. I struggled with depression and was on suicide watch for a while. It was scary for everyone, but hardest for me. I'd by far say emotional pain is the worse!

Emotional pain. Cuts and bruises can heal. But the scars from emotional suffering can last a lifetime.
