*FIRST: let me make 100% clear that I am in no way a pedophile. The idea does not interest me at all in any way. Im a man, I prefer a woman.

BUT, these guys that are pedophiles... what is wrong with that? I mean just about all of you would love to see their ***** chopped off and have them burnt alive because something in them apparantly makes them attracted to children. So if that is the way they are...whats wrong with that? Is it wrong that a gay guy is gay? Is it wrong that a kid likes chocolate milk? it it wrong that a person likes a certain type of music?

Please dont say "what if it were your kid" because that is not really the point of my question.

AGAIN... i am 100% attracted only to adult women and am in no way attracted to children at all.

I understand the question, It isn't a moral one. The reason is that those attracted to children are attracted to something that is not on equal footing with themselves. The gay man attracted to another, the hetero attracted to a woman are both offering sexual activity to one who can socially and emotionally make a decision for themselves.

The pedophile is a predator, one who is HUNTING, and who is only interested because the union is unequal and this makes and puts him in control.

it is unhealthy for the child who is not ready for this kind of intimacy as it threatens something called"body integrity."

This is the best i can do for You here, but just take my word for it, it's bad for the child, not a mature or loving "preference", and the pedophile doesn't care, which makes it selfish as well

THAT'S why it's WRONG.

I believe it is wrong personally, but I'll just tell you why first as nicely as I possibly can.

Think about how it makes the child/children feel. The adult will usually make the child feel special and grow a relationship with that child. Chances are that the adult will be caught, probably thrown into jail, and the child left in an emotional state. Its not fair for both of them.

Also the age difference, I think its alright for two ADULTS ages 20-40 whatever, but a child lets say, 11 and and 34 year old adult.

Thats just why I disagree with pedophiles, since a child shouldn't even probably even be doing those sorts of things (unless they're sixteen) with even another child of the same age group.

Though it was a very interesting question that you just asked.

If it were a legitimate mental condition then fine, I can see your point. That means they need to see some sort of physciatrist for the rest of their lives. They should be monitored weekly, and made to live certain distances from schools, bus stops, and other places where many children tend to be. The children are usually not willing and are not able to make sound decisions on their own. Just because a person may be born with these urges doesn't make it ok to molest them and leave them scarred the rest of their lives. A lot of people have urges to commit illegal acts, but they don't do it because they know it's wrong and illegal. The pedophiles should know better no matter how strong the urge.

What's "wrong" is that pedophiles are attracted to children, and children are just that: children! Children do not have the emotional, psychological or physical capacity to relate to adults in a sexual way. It does them harm. Most kids see adults as authority figures. They tend to fear consequences for disobedience or displeasing an adult. Therefore, kids are more susceptible to doing things that make them feel uncomfortable just because adults tell them to. This is taking advantage of them. It's wrong. Pedophelia is a psychosexual disorder. It is not the same thing as being "gay".
A sexual relationship between an adult and a child ALWAYS harms the child. It harms them in every way imaginable: spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, socially, and physically.

Even if a pedophile only looked at pictures he would still be abusing children. Because for the pictures to be taken a child somewhere in the world would have to have been abused.
The laws in civilized countries state that a child can't give consent. So pedophilia is close to rape. Would you need to ask 'Is there something wrong with being a rapist?'

It is not "wrong" for him to have this desire. It is wrong for him to act on it .Thus crossing over the line of fantasy, to action, that is wrong. (an action that takes advantage of children who are defenseless). This 'line' protects those who can not defend themselves, as determined by' American Values'and culture determines the values. An example using sex. The forty year old in love with the minor..The desire is always there, but tempered by fear of exposure, conscience, or religion, it is not wrong.
The day after he or she is 18, (its a sex fantasy)that is often condoned by a wink of an eye or a turn of the head. The day before that and the day before that....t's crime.. an act of pedophilia, a form of bullying in the most repugnant
sense. Almost all of us have fantasied killing, maiming rape excess hedonism at one time or another At the time, we feel the rationale and the thought genuine."natural) Does that make it okay to act on these "genuine " thoughts?
Modern society (American) is dependent on clear conscious "lines" to govern and survive.
Culture determines the values. Slavery was legal at one time, but never morally correct. Just because a person's feelings or proclivities (ie sexual preference) are genuine, this alone does not justify morally reprehensible acts.

Again, it is not the desire or the fantasy that is wrong, it is the lack of impulse control that leads one from fantasy to criminality. That's what's wrong!

Have you ever noticed that when a statement is prefaced with "First off, I just have to say that I am not (insert main topic here)..." it usually ends up that the person making the statement is exactly what they are claiming not to be?

Like a racist

homophobe

homosexual

chocolate milk drinker

PEDOPHILE...

Robbing children of their innocence in NO WAY can be equated to the type of music a person likes...wow. Now that is what I call a STRETCH...

I agree with steven D. Pedophiles rob childrens innocence! I worked as a house parent in a group home for abused kids. These kids are screwed up bad because of abuse. They have no idea or should have any ideas about sex till they hit puberty.. They end up being abusers later on in life themselves.. Period.....

You may not be a pedophile, but you do not seem to see anything wrong with it, which gives you a higher than usual ability to fall into it's trap.Since you think it is ok, your giving yourself permission to indulge in it, if you ever really wanted to.Since you see no wrong in it.
You don't think there is anything wrong with taking an innocent child, and RAPING them, not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well?Leaving them with raw, non healing wounds, and untold torment and fear that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives?! Children were not created to be able to handle the many complexities of sex. God created sex for two married, consenting adults, who are mature enough to handle it's pressures, and challenges. Have you ever seen a child who was molested say:" I just love sex! I love old hairy men,old enough to be my Grandpa all over me, doing the unmentionable to me! I think I will be a prostitute when I grow up!" No! Instead you see their hollow eyes, full of terror and fear of that horrible thing happening to them again.Yet it happens to them in their minds everyday!
I would suggest that you get a Bible, and begin reading in the book of Deuteronomy on BLESSINGS AND CURSINGS. If you follow the commandments of God, you will be blessed. If you do not, then He send you a curse.Read the books of the law too. We are no longer living under the law, but in the disposition of grace. It is still good to see how God sees things.he did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfil it.

As someone who was abused by a pedophile, let me tell you that yes, it is really wrong.

They are people who steal the innocence of children.
