I'm not sure I would use either of those words. She was free, positionally, and in her ability to choose the chair when she had been standing...but was obviously not free of "a physical exhaustion that haunted her body and seemed to reach into her soul."

Is that really repression Rea? She was affected by exhaustion, yes, but not necessarily repressed. She just needed a rest!!!
