Fenway Park is great. Right in the middle of town. The Green Monster is impressive. Enjoy the game.

Then put on your walking shoes. Start at the Boston Common and follow the Freedom Trail, there are bricks in the sidewalk to follow. It is a 2.5 mile walk that will take to all the historic sites in Boston. Just to name a few, you will pass the bar where the revolutionaries met, the Paul Revere house, the Old North Church, Across the river to the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill, back across the river to the Old State House where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the people and the site of the Boston Massacre. Finally back to the Boston Common where you can sit and rest your feet.

Along the way there are many restaurants where you can enjoy Clam Chowder or Oysters and Clams on the half shell. Seafood is big in Boston.

If you are not into walking there are bus tours that you can get. They will let you get on and off the buses as they go along the Freedom Trail.

Been there, done that. More then once and loved it.

If you are going to be there a few day you can rent a car and go to Plymouth and see the rock, not real impressive. Salem, big tourist trap. Cape Cod. Rhode Island, great place to buy those tee shirts as souvenirs, no sales tax. Anyplace you go you will find great seafood.

Oh, by the way I am also from California. Up north in the Bay Area.
