truth that draws a tear.
people may not like it
but you should tell it like it is
i'm a very harsh person when it comes to the truth
i have a brother who is wasting his life he is 21 and doesnt have a job go to school and lives with his dad
i made sure he knew how much of a bum he was being
how lazy he was
how immature he was acting
i was very cold about the situation, but he is now applying for jobs

I don't think it is that easy to decide because tears are not necessarily bad.
I think it is usually best to tell the truth unlesss it will really hurt someone seriously.
I think friendship is based on trust and I hope my friends tell me the truth even if it isn't always what I want to hear.

how about

'the truth with love?'

sometimes the truth hurts SO rather than lying - why not present the truth in a loving way to the person?

that is assuming you have earned the right for that person to trust what you say with the right motives
