It's embarassing, but I have nothin' on my suitcase. In fact, I don't have a suitcase. It's expensive.

I only go out and get a big box when I'm due for leave, fill her up with things, and slug that big thing with me to the airport.

- my toiletry bag

- my money belt

- xerox copies of my passport, tickets, and credit cards ( which I lock in the hotel safe the moment I check in)

- written file of my contact numbers (in case my mobile is stolen, or misplaced)

- and finally, inside my suitcase is a record of my name, and contact numbers (in case it gets lost and the tag containing my contact details is ripped off my suitcase)

To me these are the absolute "must haves".

1. wallet - cash/credit card, cash, id with picture for identification (passport too!) just in case and a calling card with our house phone number.
2. kikay kit - something like a pouch with soap, shampoo, lotion, make up kit (small lang), toothbrush, toothpaste.
3. clothes that you can wear over and over like maong, white shirt and shorts, rubber shoes and slippers.
4. a knife or ice pick and a vinegar spray for the rapists and bandits.
5. cellphone

A 6 outlet power strip, so I can recharge all my electronic devices at the same time without having to move furniture.

My personal items - - my brand of soap, shampoo, toothbrush, my toothpaste, deodorants, etc. Nothing worse than travelling stinky. The toiletry items in the hotels - I can't use them.

Toothbrush and what goes with it, razor or shaver, underwear, washcloth, deodorant, shirts pants, slippers, that's it.... Laptop and Yahoo answers, and cell fone come separately.

sunscreen when i am going to the beach.

insect repellent when i am going to palawan or some far-flung and exotic destination.

and of course, my toiletries, some cash and my credit cards.
