I liked the ones in the first Rocky movie as far as straight up fighting goes. I think you should also give Lucas credit for some of the light saber duels in the Star Wars movies. This sounds fun I wonder if we're all going to date ourselves by the movies we watched when we were younger? Best war movie period? Das Boot in 1981!! Purists like me saw it in the theatre in subtitles. Any movie where you cheer for the Germans must be doing something right!!:)

The best fight scene ever is between Roddy Rod Piper and Keith David in the classic film "They Live", when Roddy Rod is trying to get Keith to put on the special alien revealing sunglasses. I love that film, and I love that fight scene.
I am also fond of the opening battle scene in Gangs of New York.

Umm, for laughs, Steven and Chip at MidEvil Times in Cable Guy. LOL In Action, I would say 300 had some of the most intense and amazing fight scenes!

Wow! Tough. Ummm. I would have to say some of the fights in the new Bond movie and all of the Bourne movies are awesome. But I don't watch R rated movies, so I probably haven't seen the best.

For me the greatest battle is from the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith...
Can you imagine... how a simple husband and wife fight like that!

- 300: any of the fight scenes kick ***
- TROY: the opening one move slice and all the other battles that followed
- GLADIATOR: any of the fights in the circle
- i don't remember the title but it featured Tony Jaa and some other guy fighting in a church that was on fire
- FACE/OFF: the scene that they fought in Ditry's house
- just about anything with Jet Li in it... kiss of the dragon and fearless

I liked that scene in Indiana Jones where it looks likes he's about to fight, but he just gets out his gun and shoots the guy.

im gonna ignore all the fights involving any martial arts legends, bruce, jackie & jet coz tht would take me all day...
my fav balls to the wall fist & sword fights
- mel gibson vs garu busey in lethal weapon1
- bride vs vivica fox kill bill 1
- bride vs daryl hannah kill bill 2
- mummy returns sequence at the end (before the scorpion)
- patrick swayze in roadhouse
- end sequence of last of the mohicans
- end sequence of LOTR-fellowship of the ring when aragorn faces off with an army of uruk and the others rush in to help
