- 4x + 3y = - 11---ADD
x = 2

8 - 3y = 11
3y = - 3
y = - 1

x = 2 , y = - 1

there are many way to do this, this is one of them

-4(5x - 3y = 13)
5(4x - 3y = 11)

-20x + 12y = -52
20x -15y = 55 .........................add those 2 equation

-20x + 20x + 12y - 15y = -52 + 55
-3y = 3
y = -1

5x - 3y = 13
5x -3(-1) = 13
5x + 3 = 13
5x = 10
x = 2

Subtract:

..5x - 3y = 13
-(4x - 3y = 11)
______________
..x ......... = 2

10 -3y = 13
-3y = 3
y = -1

thus x = 2, y = -1.
