as far as problems on ducatti i don't know, but i can tell you those italian parts are expensive as hell!!! R1 is, IMO, by far the most styleistic literbike, with ZX-10R #2 GSX-R 3. likewise an R6 is the best looking midweight. and guess what. I'M GETTIN' A R6!!!!!! but anyway, i would go with the R 1 based on a looks only preference. that's all that really matters anyway. not like you will take these bikes over 60% of their potential anyway!!! -'!'- whatever you get make sure you stay inside your limits.

The Ducatis are bullet proof, they just require more maintanance. I loved my 1000rr and would suggest that as it it very forgiving for a liter bike.

lucky dude. ducatis are prone to needing more work than japanese bikes, but it's worth it to have the v twin sound. if you want to get a true performance bike, get a ducati 999, even the paul smart 998 kicks ***. if you get an r1, get a 50th anniversary, they come with oversized brembro brakes, marchesinni wheels, ohlins forks, and rear shock, the bike is stacked.

Hey Ron.....You're the guy that has the friend that steals bikes right?
Hell, if he's gonna go get you a new bike...why not go with a Busa at least that way when the cops start chasing you you can make a fast getaway.
I love this guy.....LMAO.

The Suzuki GSX R 1000 is the best buy for your money. Next would be the CBR1000RR.
