The US team is too deep. It's like the US has two sets of starters, while other teams have just one - team USA will never get tired or worn out. Plus this team USA is different. Teams before would beg USA to shoot 3-pointers. That problem has been addressed with Redd and Mike Miller. The zone won't be effective against USA like it was with the "Greek Tragedy" Dream Team. Plus USA is better acclimated to FIBA rules now. Remember when USA players would stare at the ball while it bounced around the rim, not knowing that tipping it off was legal? This is a new Team USA and while I think Argentina or Spain could give them a test if they get hot from the 3-point line(pretty much their only chance), I think Team USA is gonna take the gold.

Well, you make a legit case since the U.S.A. Basketball team beat Argentina by only 15 points without 4 of their NBA players when the American team has been accustomed to blowing out International teams by 30 - 40+ points. However, that does not guarantee that Argentina will be able to dominate with a complete roster. It just means that the U.S. vs. Argentina match would be the most competitive series in the Olympics.

Argentina is pretty talented but i think the US is too deep- especially with Jason Kidd and Kobe Bryant controlling the backcourt.
i guess we'll see when the Olympics roll around- i know Ginobli will make a big difference but i'm not sure he's a 20 point difference. Plus keep in mind that the US is dominating right now with none of there players averaging more than 23 minutes a game.

I am rooting for my team (USA) but I would be afraid of playing Argentina if they had their complete roster. We haven't been a dominant force for the past couple of years. I mean greece beat this same squad last year...with the exception of kobe and a few not playing, but still, that "level of talent" that we like to hold above everyone else and above the rest of the world has diminished. There are elite countries that can compete with the USA, I mean we've yet to see it, but they are there. why haven't we been able to win anything since 03? because the rest of the world has caught up.we need to get over ourselves...americans aren' the only people on the face of this planet that can play. If you doubt the talent level of international players look at the likes of ricky rubio...that kid is insane...

Don't think so. It would be an interesting game but Argentina in the end would come up short.
