I kinda get where you are comming from, I've been shooting pool for 6 years now and when playing, I get into this zone where if distracted or if my chi is broken or fu*ked with, I get reall pissed off. You get so absorbed and concentrated in the game that you don't realize what is going on around you. Last time I played, my friend and I didn't talk for the whole game (8 1/2 hours) and just let the music play. this only happens when playing for money or dignity. When you are playing a friendly game, chill, relax, have a couple of beers and you'll realize a lot can be disscused in a friendly game of pool, think of it as therapy for guys. You do this and soon you'll realize that you'll be wanting to shoot pool everyday just to get things off your mind.
