You know that is a good question, I would say Martin Luther had a bigger impact by splitting the Church (which needed to be done, for the Catholics had a stranglehold) By Martin Luther Splitting the Church, He single handed took alot of power away from the Catholics.

Martin Luther (November 10, 1483 – February 18, 1546) was a German monk, theologian, and church reformer. He is also considered to be the founder of Protestantism.

Luther's theology challenged the authority of the papacy by emphasizing the Bible as the sole source of religious authority and the church as a priesthood of all believers. According to Luther, salvation was attainable only by faith in Jesus as the messiah, a faith unmediated by the church. These ideas helped to inspire the Protestant Reformation and changed the course of Western civilization.

Luther's translation of the Bible into the vernacular, making it more accessible to ordinary people, had a tremendous political impact on the church and on German culture. The translation also furthered the development of a standard version of the German language, added several principles to the art of translation, and influenced the translation of the English King James Bible. His hymns inspired the development of congregational singing within Christianity. His marriage to Katharina von Bora set a model for the practice of clerical marriage within Protestantism.

In all fairness both of them made an impact in such ways so you can't compare them equally. We can not deny the contributions made by Martin Luther as far as religion is concerned. Magellan, on the other hand, though not really discovered the Philippines, introduced to the Westeners a route outside their boundary during that time

I feel that Martin Luther King JR. did, because he stood up for what he believed in. He helped to change the way that others look at black people. He didn't seem to care what anyone had to say about him, he just did what he believed in. I think that he has helped others to start to be more assertive about the things that they believe in or care about. He also had God on his side. He went to church. Yes Ferdinand Magellan was smart and had a lot of things going for him. He was a good leader and started to sail across the world with a crew and five ships. It didn't say anything about Magellan going to chruch or having a faith. I feel that God is a big part of being a leader, and just a good person.

Luther, without doubt. He changed the world. All Magellan did was sail around it.

MARTIN LUTER HANDS DOWN.

Luther is hugely responsible for the decline of the catholic church, the insurgence of democracy, the end of the renaissance, and the start of a MASSIVE church whose beliefs make up the foundation of many nations-- e.g. the USA! Luther's actions pioneered an entire ERA: the reformation!!!!!

p.s. Meme-- martin luther is not the same as martin luther king junior.
