The media isn't liberal - only to the twisted perspective of the right-wing pundits and self-righteous know-it-alls who must attack anything that is an opposing view than their own.

i'm a conservative, and i wouldn't agree with the statement that media succeeds because of lib. free market is good for all products, whether media, or whatever. doesn't matter what the product is, either. competition exists between lib outlets constantly. it also battles conservative outlets. outside of talk radio, and a few blogs, conservatives have very limited places to turn for conservative news and opinion. The TV and print media is liberal, by and large. the academic institutions are led, by and large , by liberal profs. libs in the media are often at the top as well as,and especially throughout. we all have a choice what we can watch and listen to. i personally watch very little TV and read very little print. i was once a lib, when i was young. enjoy your youth.

In case you haven't checked, most liberal media is down...where a market drives success (e.g. CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times). Other parts of the Liberal media depend on government support (NPR), Monopolies (the LA Times), or outright government censorship (the "fairness" doctrine).

conservative radio and Fox News exist because there is a large audience for it.
Air America is a joke with bunch of angry degenerates running it.
the other day on a show on there.....people were calling in with ideas on how to successfully "hookup" in bathroom stalls without being caught by police....then they had a "coming out party" on the air for the senator from Idaho, while they sang " Its Raining Men"
what a bunch of low-lifes.

Have you seen the ratings for the three major networks and their news programs recently? They're low! Limbo stick low. Plus, many ultra liberal newspapers are loosing readership. The moderate, to slightly left or right news agencies and outlets are doing well. Air America failed, Talk Radio has suceeded. CNN is doing good, but Fox has higher ratings. It seems we "neocons" have a point.

They don't say the media succeeds because it is liberal. It is losing out to other sources of less biased reporting. I would think that owners would be more interested in profits and do something about the quality of what passes as "news" but sounds more like DNC spin. Their loss. Someone will fill the void.

Actually "They" say that Liberals have most of TV and newspapers, and Conservatives have talk radio. No contradiction, just different media.
-
Talk radio is successful because conservatives can listen to it on the way to and from work.
-
TV and newspapers work for Liberals because they can sit on their butts and read and watch all day while the collect welfare,
