Because of people like Hillary Clinton who say's things like "I can guarantee MY vice-president won't shoot someone in the face" like she did tonight on David Letterman...that statement was meant to do nothing more than divide us further...not only can she not make a guarantee like that, she is implying that she knows more about what happened than the police who investigated it.

National / People tend to speak out loudest in the topics/issues that they have the strongest feeling or have most to lose.

Also, those who have a particular point of view for or against a specific subject tend to be more vocal.

As a result, one should not be surprise that 2 or more very different point of views being put forward by the members of the forums regarding political topics.

Because they've bought into what the people who run the world (and the media) have wanted for a long time - to divide the country. If we're divided, then we certainly won't be successful in holding any government officials accountable.

That is the nature of the times we live in. The gap is as wide as its ever been. Conservatism and Liberalism are two very different belief systems and ways of looking at the world.

You mean the nation known as the USA or some other nation? Some of it on YAnswers is from all the foreigners coming here to practice their anti-Americanism. And some is from gullible and insecure Americans who really believe all the nasty things they say about our country.

because we unfortunately have only two parties to pick from. Only two parties can't possibly accurately represent 300 million people, so people tend to get desperate in trying to protect their own beliefs. We need stronger third parties.

Also, suckstobu, you have a serious problem accepting reality. You are frightened of yourself and the world, and it shows through your extreme ignorance. "foreigners" is a pretty broad word, no. 1, and no. 2, it's ridiculous to think that "they all hate America." seriously. stop being racist.
