Whilst you seen to be dealing with a lot of different things there, and I don't suffer from this type of headache, have you considered alternative medicines?
Acupuncture may be a good idea and worth looking at, for example.

Good question- and a Frustrating problem, at best. WOW! Headaches for the last 4 years- OUCH! Have you been referred to a Neurologist, Chiropractor, Allergist, or a pain management clinic? There should be a solution, as NOBODY should live this way, and I feel very badly for you. Are you aware of the foods that do cause headaches, like chocolate? I'm sure you do. There are different meds out there. Also, try a product called "Thermacare"- It is like having a heating pad without an electric cord. This product places deep, penetrating heat a full 8 hours, and is effective. Also, a Pain Management Clinic focuses only on ur pain, and their goal is to make sure that you have a productive, pain free, good quality of life. I sustained injuries over 20 years ago, and live in chronic pain. The pain clinic has changed my life. They offer trigger point injections, epidurals, which contain agents that are long lasting. In addition, they have great ideas such as tens units, just to name one thing. There is help out there. I have referred many of my family and friends to the clinic I go to. It has helped them with their chronic pain issues. My best friend suffers with migraine headaches. She got an injection to help alleviate the headaches, and she has not had one for 3 months now. Again, I will post a few sites, and hopefully this will help. Good Luck and Take Care! You have suffered way too long!

My mother gets headaches ever day to. She has ben taking a medication called Maxalt. If you have been taking it and It does not work, than I would seek medical help. If you have done that which I am pretty sure you have done, than try to exercise a lot during the day and also, avoid drinking caffinated beverages. That will disrupt some of the brain waves in the BASAL GANGIA. That is a part of your brain located under your cerebrum. That might help some pain to go away. If this does not work than you should go to a doctor even though you have already done that. Just keep trying. That is all I have to say. This could be a major brain disorder or you could just be experiencing what could be depression. Some people claim that they have know depression but they have it all along. You just have so much on your mind that you don't even relize your own depression.

What's wrong with finding out what is causing the condition? Ever tried going to a doctor of Chiropractic.. They have been treating headaches successfully for nearly 100 years.. Can't be any less effective than what you are doing now. There has to be something causing your problem. When you continue to treat the symptoms, you are over looking the causation of the actual problem. Need another opinion desperately.

In addition to a chiropractor, I would suggest seeing an allergist and possibly a homeopathic doctor.
The reason for a homeopathic doctor is that you may have food related allergies and/or sensitivities that a medical allergist wouldn't pick up on.
My son has horrible migraines (he's 10) and his trigger is dairy products, particularly ice cream.

I had this problem and after going to all the doctors and having all the tests done. The only thing that worked for me was acupuncture. After going there for two months, my headaches disappeared for ever. this was almost a year ago.

have you tried Topomax? I am on Propananol (or something like that) as a preventative but was told the other day that it is designed to decrease the intensity of the headache. i know how frustrating it is when no one can figure out what can help. just keep going...trial and error. i hope you have been to a neurologist....that is who i had to finally go to in order to make progress. i also take Imitrex and Florecet (i think that is how they are spelled) for when i get a migraine. this last one was 7 days long! wow that sucked.

You may be stressed even if you don't think so. I read somewhere in a health magazine that people can convince themselves to think they aren't stressed...
Also, if you frequently take pain medicine for a headache, THAT could be giving you a headache.
Try meditating. It works for me.

Have you been evaluated by your family Chiropractor? If not, now is the time to do so.
Best wishes and good luck.
