Is there any theory about the Phoenix lights?

Were those lights really UFOs?

They were hot-air balloons, made out of dry-cleaner bags and fueled by candles. They made no sound because they drifted with the air currents - just like any hot-air balloon does. They flew "in formation" because there wasn't enough turbulence at that altitude to split them up. Again - just like any other flotilla of hot-air balloons.

At night, with no other frame of reference, human observers tend to make patterns out of the limited visual information they get. Seeing either multiple objects flying in formation, or large objects with "landing lights" or some such.

And no, I'm not kidding.

Typical Skeptic Morons..... the flare excuse has been disproved by hundreds if not thousands on the Phoenix lights. Read (Lynn Kitie's book "The Phoenix Lights"). Military flares DO NOT have the capability to fly in perfect formation they also emit a bit of smoke trail that can easily be seen close up. They also do not have the capability to lower and maintain a perfect altitude while still maintaining a course. The F-4 fighters excuse, make quite a bit of noise so sorry, The Goldwater Air Force Base lies again. The answer is that The military truly had no Idea what the Phoenix lights were, so they felt responsible for the air space so they came up with the basic discrediting info to shut the masses up. It was a real UFO the largest sighting in modern history. Government Fife Symington just CONFIRMED THIS ON LARRY KING LIVE a few weeks ago..Wake up people "some" but not "all" UFOs are really unexplained. Go to the out of the blue movie web site it will show clips..and open your mind

Im not talking about unidentified objects like kite or etc. Im reffering to UFO's from other planets of another galaxy/civilization that are capable of travelling here on earth using technology that is way more advance that we could imagine.

The bible didnt mention if there's life out there or none because the Bible is mostly about our relationship with each other and with our faith with God..So theres a gazillion possibility that theres life out there, hence the planets in the universe are more than the grains of sand here on earth.

Actually, I call them IFO's now. [alien space-craft] because they are now identified and some of them had crashed on earth and they had been here around 1940's since they were 1st spotted but government & military coverup is still present claiming UFOs as to be weather ballons or etc.

NOW THATS STUPID. do you think the government can just deny it easily and tell the public that nothing is up there? with millions of people that actually saw it, took pictures and etc?..

And yea, dont forget Feb 24,1942. Remember the 1942 los-angeles attack?.. military officials fired at UFO's, it was like a bunch of UFOs . The military claimed it to be UFO's at first. then the next day, it was published in the newspaper that it was a weather ballon.???.Over 1400 rounds of shell cant drop that weather ballon.FTW.. get outta here.:)

I doubt it.
I lived on a ranch in Buckeye the last 10 years.
We used to see that stuff all the time.
Lots of people out here joked about the Buckeye lights.
We are pretty used to the boys from luke playing late at night. So no one thought much of it. Every once in a while one of the kids would splat up against eagle mountain... Fly by wire my a$$.
One night I was out riding and they came right overhead VERY slow. Almost no noise....
It was a bunch of little fighter planes in formation with VERY bright spotlights comming off the front. flying dang slow and low... I didn't know they could fly that slow...
Not sure what the deal was with that low slow formation.
But the planes were very visible in the starlight from the side.

The best scientific study that I've seen on the Phoenix lights concluded that the best theory is that the lights are flares that were dropped from military aircraft. In the video you can see that they slowly descend.

I was there that night.
I'm a male college graduate from Arizona State University.
I graduated magna c um laude with a BA in elementary education. SO I am not a jack A** tallking nonsense!!

It happend in March 1997. I was working part time at Rio Salado Community College at night. I worked as a site supervisor at the college while I was getting my degree.
One of my jobs was to escort students out of the main college building at Rio Salado and watch them exit to their cars in the adjacent parking garage. As I was standing in front of the building doing my job, I was getting really bored.
I started to stare off toward the North end of the parking lot and I watched air planes landing at Sky Harbor International Air Port. I had served for six years in the Arizona Air National Gaurd, so I knew what air planes I was observing as they landed at Sky Harbor.
What struck me the most curious was a what I thought was a large passenger jet cutting a transverse path accross the landing zone, above the East end of the runway. I thought for sure I was going to witness a plane crash. My thinking was that some Foreign Air Line Idiot was flying the wrong direction above the landing planes. So I watched waiting to see what would happen.
The strange air plane was not really visible, All I could see was the running lights in the shape of a very large
V-formation of RED lights.
I stood in the parking lot staring North. I stood and watched as the V-formation of red lights slowly glided without sound over my head!!!!!!
It flew above the main building at Rio Salado. I stood rooted to the ground amazed! My neck craning up watching as it soared gracefully over the college, then over the I-10 freeway, then into the South East sky line. I never heard any noises. I only could see a bunch of lights in a V-formation.
Two male students walked out while this was happening, and all three of us were standing with out heads bent way way back looking up as the Damn thing flew over the college and out into the South East night sky line.

There were flares dropped that night. But I saw the lights at 9:00 PM, the flares were launched at 10:00 PM by Navy Jets many miles away from where I was. The Navy had a National Reserve unit doing practice at Coolidge, which is approximately 56 miles away from Phoenix.

Anyway, as people were exiting the building, they wanted to know what was going on with me and the other two guys. I couldn't keep my mouth shut, I had to tell every body about what I had just witnessed. I was freaked out!
Some of the people I told just smiled at me and walked away that night. However, when saw some of them a few days later when it was my shift again, they went on and on about seeing the New reports. I actually went home and saw a new report on a local TV station, so I called to tell them what I saw. They told me that they were inundated with over 10,000 phone calls that very night.
NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT WAS !!!
BUT COMMET HALE-BOPP WAS IN THE SKY THAT NIGHT! Which just adds to the mystique of it all!
