when u open a account in a bank, you have a signature there. So wheneer you are doing banking transactions with PDA, you will send yor signature also, to make it more secure.

Well there are many applications of handwriting recognition systems. The system basically converts handwritten image information into text. Following are a few examples of its applications:

1. Converting handwritten document to digital form. Eg. documents in government offices, insurance companies, banks etc.

2. Support tool for people who are not familiar with keyboard or differnt type of keyboard. Eg. if you go to Germany, they have a different keyboard. An american would feel crippled while typing.

I found handwriting recognition useful when I was on a bus or a boat and It was a bumpy ride... did that answer your question?
