Y and W are both considered vowels in some circumstances, so, depending on who you listen to, the words like wry, cry, and, cwm , crwth, and others may in fact have vowels.

But these don't have any -

Nth, (pronounced enth) is considered a word in the English language. It is normally used as a representation for maximum (to the nth degree). Other uses include its realistic mathematical variable. 2n could be read as "two to the nth power".

psst - A hissing sound designed to attract the attention of someone covertly. This word is described as being an onomatopoeia.

tsk - A sound of disapproval, also rendered tut, or alternatively a dental click (/).

Besides questionable words like "hmmm" and "grrr", the only one I really know of is "cwm". It's a welsh word meaning valley that crept into English in the last couple hundred years. It's obscure and probably obsolete, but it still shows up in some dictionaries.

Here's a dictionary of them - starting at B.

PS in cwm in Welsh, thw w is acting as a vowel.

The words listed by Angela and Evanescence all have the vowel "y" in them.

The only word without a vowel I know of is mxyzpxlx. That's the name of an imp in Superboy comic books.

spy, cry, sty, sly, shy, → the "y" in these sample words are considered only as SEMI-VOWEL! but y in its true sense is NOT a vowel...

brb for more..

TWYNDYLLYNGS ~ a 15th century spelling of the word "twinling," which means, in modern English, "twin."
