After that sweep, I'm sure as hell worried, especially with Atlanta coming up! Then again, someone here at work said that the Phillies will probably play the Marlins and lose 2 out of 3. Sure that would be great but then we still have to deal with the friggin Braves. I would honestly rather see Atlanta ahead of Philly any day. Maybe it's because Philly fans really are the worst!

I am worried as all get up. A few days ago we had a seven game lead over both Atlanta and Philly and a chance to all but wrap it up over the Phils with no worse than a split. Then off to Atlanta, where a split would have virtually wrapped the division. This is NOT the way to round into playoff form, which (even making the playoffs) now is NOT guaranteed.

Phillies Phan here...just so you know.

"THE SWEEP"
Runs Per Game:
Mets: 4.0
Phils: 6.8

Batting Average:
Mets: .254
Phils: .365

Homeruns:
Mets: 2
Phils: 11

BULLPEN ERA:
Mets: 9.95
Phils: 4.11

As usual, the cry-baby, whiney Mutt fans cannot accept the fact that they simply were out-played and out-classed by the surging Philadelphia Phillies, a team of destiny...destined to knock the Mets right out of the NL East Lead...with a little assist from the Atlanta Braves this weekend...
nope, they can't accept it but, what they do is find all kinds of excuses as to why they lost....WA! WA!....it's the Umpire.....WA! WA! it's the weather...WA! WA!....
Getting swept twice in the same year by the Phils is no fluke, it's the real deal....if not for the slow April start by the Phils, they would be 10 games ahead of you Mutts as the NL East Leader.
Wednesday's game-ending interference call was the right call by that umpire, C.B. Bucknor ...you Met fans KNOW IT....Marlon Anderson's lack of class by trying to take out Tadahito Iguchi pretty much sums up the New York Mets, and their fans....arrogant, classless thugs who will break all the rules just to try and steal a win.
Reality Check! YOU LOST....
THE PHILS BEAT YOU DOWN...
you are owned by the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES....
"THE TEAM TO BEAT IN THE NL EAST" (J. Rollins)

Oh, and to all the Mutt fans who traveled all the way down from New York to attend the games at CBP, trying to shout down the Phillies Phans and causing fights in the stands...
if you weren't part of the couple hundred arrested for causing fights at the Park, how was your trip back to New Yawk after being swept under the rug?
I imagine it was pretty quiet in those cars and trains on the return trip...ya know, like there wasn't a whole lot to cheer about.

I think the Mets will straighten themselves out. They've been very streaky all year.

One thing that does bother me: Last Sunday Bobby Cox knew the importance of this series, and manipulated his staff so that both Hudson and Smoltz would pitch against the Mets. He even pitched Smoltz on three days rest so he could face Glavine on Sunday. In turn, the Mets counteract by announcing that they'll use Mike Pelfrey (0-7) as their pitcher on Saturday. This has to be a joke isn't it???

If I were a Mets fan I'd be very worried. The Phillies have the hitting to win the division. Right now I would have to give the edge to the Phillies.

i am a met fan and not only am i worried but i have given up. the mets will have no heart left after that loss, and also it is clear that wagner is now as bad as gagne and mussina put together...

why they trotted dead arm wagner out there for a second inning will always be a mystery... especially after a rocky 8th...

joba chamberlain is not walkin' thru that door...
