They didn't call for Vitter's resignation.

I heard a Republican just today say "At least that other 'fella' was doing it with a woman." The sad thing is, For them; It really IS about the fact that he's gay - Not the fact that he wanted to commit lewd conduct in a public facility. Not the fact that he's just the latest in a long line of elected members of their own party to be investigated, indicted, resign for, or admit to criminal acts.

To Craig's political credit (And the perfect illustration of the sad bigotry mentioned); He'd been a member of the Hypocrite party long enough that he KNEW that would be his base's number one concern - Same sex preference was the first thing he denied in his press conference!

I think it is because Vitter admitted what he did and Craig obviously keeps denying the obvious. They both should resign because they both broke the law, especially when they make the laws that the rest of us have to obide by.

I think it was because that this went to an actual trial (where he plead guilty) and that no one knew about it until a newspaper brought it to light.

Vitter was not charged, was not brought into trial. It also was in the past (not the near past and it did not involve a public restroom). And maybe it is more palatable to take a heterosexual shacking up with a prostitute rather than a homosexual propositioning a stranger in a public restroom.

Vitter didn't plead guilty to a crime. He also didn't go around cutting people down for what he was doing. Craig should have practiced what he preached.

They haven't mentioned Florida Rep. Bob Allen, either.

I think it is because Sen. Craig was so prominent in Mitt Romney's campaign. The Republicans are afraid that some of Craig's gay may stain Romney's campaign.

What would have happened if someone would have stomped
his foot. How did he get his foot over there in the first place?
I wonder if he is getting hung out to dry because he is such a
hypocrite more than anything else? No pun intended.
Thanks.

In the republican party being "ho-mo-sex-u-al" is a crime.
