ON THE BEACH is an excellent film. Not the re-make, the original.
After a nuclear war, Australia is the only place to survive, and an American submarine appears to have escaped the war.
It's a black and white film which should be required watching for ANY movie buff.

Mine are split between one real and one very well done

Hunt For Red October (the author Tom Clancy knows a lot of people who helped him write this novel turned movie that are submariners and such).
