I heard an interview where Joe said that Umaga was a disrespectful amalgam of Pacific Island stereotypes, and in no way an accurate representation of Samoan culture.

Samoa Joe. considering umaga just got suspended for drugs that kinda takes him out. he isn't bad without the makeup...but he has GRILLZ! how f*cking great is that?
