Because you are talking about a party that tries to preach morals, but they don't have any. That's also like the Catholic church condemns gay marriages and they knew that some of their priest were molesting alter boys. Is their no shame to being a hypocrite?

Why do democrats have such a fit when they discover a republican homosexual when they approve of gays and would like to see gay marriages? How is that not hypocritical? And there are plenty of gay democrats in office so whats thie point?

Republicans tend to try and go with the whole "moral majority" thing aka extremely Christian and extremely conservative. A lot of the time, this type of person hardly practices what they preach. But they have brain-washed themselves so much that they find themselves in the middle of a whole lot of self-loathing.

The biggest blowhards are usually the biggest hypocrites. Sometimes when people do things that they think are socially unacceptable they'll publicly rally against it because they're in denial.
One movie that I know that attempts to touch on the subject of living in denial and going against social norm is Jungle Fever, directed by Spike Lee.
