I want to go on the shot. I am curious as to whether you get the shot the same day you go to the Dr.'s to talk about going on it ?

I would not get the shot, please talk to your doc about other options.

TOO many women have TOO many negative experiences with depo provera.

PLEASE research this poison before you get it administered. I'm appalled its still on the market.

Google "depo provera lawsuit" as well as look at all the reviews on http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx before deciding.

If you do go through with it, I wish you the best of luck on it.

I was on it for four years and had horrible negative side affects on this drug. YES there are those who have had no issues, but those are the minority!

Talk to your doctor.

Talk to your dr. It's not called an IUD...that form of birth control is inserted into the uterus, I know, I have it. The birth Control shot is called Depo Provera. You can call your Dr. or OBGYN and tell them you are thinking of getting the shot. Make an appt. they can give you the shot the same day. It is usually given in the hip..(right above the buttox) but I do know that some dr's give it in the arm. After you get the shot, USE PROTECTION for at least 2 weeks. It does not prevent pregnancy right away! And i does not protect against STD's. It may leave you bleeding, and some women never bleed at all. Some gain alot of weight, some do not. (I lost 20 pounds on it, it was different for me). So whatever you decide to do, good luck!!!

See your primary care provider and tell him/her you are interested in depo shot. You have to take a pregnancy test first, and be on your period for the shot to be administrated. After that you will have a little bleeding through out the three months and gain or lose a lot weigh until your body get use to the shot. That can take about year of treatment.

Thanks
