If the confederacy had won the war, the following events would have probably happened:
The nation would not just have been divided but likely also divided by the heavily guarded "Dixon Wall" as a result of Western expansion becoming an everlasting battle of two different nations, leaving each nation, the US and the CS to become poor by the beginning of the 20th century.
Slavery would have existed in the Confederate states longer, and segregation would have existed to this day.
And here's where it gets worse, if consistent bickering in regards to the ideals of both nations continues into WWII, then guess what happens, the Confederate States would have become a friend to Nazi Germany out of contempt for their northern neighbor. So much for the US becoming the most powerful nation in the world, when we are left destroyed on our own territory. In fact, by the 1970s, Americans would be so poor that the WTC wouldn't even be built, and the Middle Eastern nations that speak out against us wouldn't even care that we are around.
Communism would also win over Europe, Asia, and even Africa because the Soviet Union would still be going strong into the 21st century, and only because the US is no superpower. Japan would also be communist, Korea would be a united communist nation, and Britain, France, Canada, and Australia would be isolated.
So, do I wish the confederacy won the war? Give me a break!

They ARE winning - They just had a much more long term strategy than people realized. But the former Confederate states, by voting as a block the last few elections and getting their man appointed to the White House in the Supreme Court; ARE winning. It is their oil that the rest of the country is now FAR more economically dependant on today than they ever were the South's textile and agricultural products in the 1800's. And a UCLA survey found just today that the nation's schools; Particularly in the South, thanks in near toto to recent Supreme Court rulings decided by their man's appointees - Are rapidly being RE-segregated.
No; The South just had a larger, longer term, political rather than military strategy for winning the war. If they can keep getting Republicans elected to the White House; Before long they'll have had the last word...

No, the south had way too much conflict within itself to win the war, and even if they had squeezed by a victory, the government would not have been able to maintain itself.
Besides, their morals were horrible. To treat another man like ones porperty is flat out wrong, and the slaves in most cases weren't even treated as humans, even less than dogs. They fought to preserve slavery in many cases. Is that what people really want? To own and control others> If the South had not won the war, I think there would have been a bloody uprising.

Not really... the South would have had a difficult time economically without the Northeren industry. Mexico would have likely taken advantage of this and maybe tried to recapture Texas.
Even if the South won I wouldn't be surprised that the United States would reunite... first as a economic alliance an eventually a official reunification.

The only positive that I can see had they won would be a victory for states rights. Since the Civil War there has been nothing but an erosion of states rights.

No way. They were a bunch of turncoats. By the way Lincoln wasn't so much against slavery, as he was adamant about preserving the union. It wasn't until his second term that he really had a major change of heart over the slavery issue.

No. Slavery was a real evil, and for that reason alone, the South deserved to lose.
However, if you take slavery out of the equation (say it never existed or something), then I'd wanted the South to clobber the North.

Hmmm...As an African-American do I really like the right to vote, not be whipped into working for free, the ability to read, and to openly associate with my white friends?
Yeah, that's a real tough question isn't it?...Uhh...NOT!

No, America would not be the world leader it is today.
I'm afraid the "States Rights" mindset still lives in Conservative America.
