Ok. So I drove about 200 miles to cedar pointe and back in an 93 grand am with 168k miles on it. I got about 5 miles away from cedar pointe and a low coolant light came on. So i filled it with coolant and the light stayed on. But it stoped overheating. On the wayt back i had to keep fillling with coolant to stop with from over heating. I took it to the shop and a gasket blown and now the car won't even turn on because the water is mixing with the oil anbd making it really milky like. The coolant was leaking out through the head gasket. THe car won't turn on but I recently just bought new struts serepentine belt and alternator so there is some new stuff in the car. DO you think i could sell this car to anyone ? Ask if you want more details

our '88 cavalier did the same thing about 10 years ago.. we had it fixed and it did the same thing again. you should look at 2 things 1) how much is it going to take to repair. with the car being 15 years, you might be better to try and add to the $ and get a newer vehicle. it's like once they get a certain age, things go bad left and right. we had all new brakes and lines, hoses and a few other things done to our 93 caravan, then the trannie blew.
2) how is the body? will you get another 3 or 5 years without major bodywork?

Why not just buy a new head gasket and install it? Now would be a good time to learn how to do it. Buy a Chilton's repair manual or find a buddy with some experience or even better find both. Then go ahead and give it a shot.

It is your call in the end, you'll have to make the decision. If you have the money then trade it, if you don't want to mess with it.

sell it , on craigs ist what is there to loose.
in order to sink money in such a beast you have to love it.
baring that, junk it.

if good with hands you can fix it your self very cheap.
just lots of hard work.
but you get in to it and find it needs all new hoses belts.
and then a battery and then shocks, and next tires.........

and it never ends.

no such thing as a cheap car.
either pay a bank or pay Autozone.
what is the difference.?

typical repair bill for ablown head gasket is about 300 bucks youre talking about a 13 year old car here, you didnt spend that much on it as far as parts, i know it hard to let it go cause it looks preety good still exept for the head gasket right? let it go!!! junk it!!!

You may want to see if you could donate it to a charity for a tax writeoff. I would not sink any more money into it though. It has enough miles on it that other things would start to malfunction if you were to fix the engine.

id run an add for it ,and sell it for parts, someone will buy the whole car for the good parts that are on it,there's always someone needing something for those cars, and this one would make an excellent parts car.price it for what you think it should be worth as parts or junk, someone will buy it,they always do,there's a buyer for everything, good luck on it.

a head gasket is gonna cost more to fix than the car is worth, so i couldn't see anyone who would want to buy it.

All you need to do is replace the gasket and change the oil several times. Then you can keep it!
