It has been a steady growth for almost 100 years. Reagan probably helped them the most in my lifetime.

I would guess Corporate America really swung into this power during the early days of building railroads and mining in the U.S..
But really the country was sold out to the Federal Reserve Act under President Woodrow Wilson.

This was designed by the Rockefellers, J.P.Morgan, and the Rothschilds.

It has not happened overnight, it has been two steps back and one step forward for a long time
This website has a lot of info starting when corporations were accidentally given rights as immortal persons

Big Medicine: Corporate Personhood
Another great mistake was not punishing the Gang Of Pirates when the first tried to overthrow the US Government in 1933!

BBC 1933 coup
The members of that coup have never been revealed, but as they wanted the US to join Germany to conquer the world it is a fair bet that those who did help Germany were among the plotters, and Bush - Harriman is prominent in that group.
It is easy to suppose that the plotters went underground sort of to lay a better groundwork for their final take over, just look about and you can see their work exposed. from the Red Scares and Viet Nam war to the present debacles.

When the government started making laws taking away the right of workers to strike! Right-to-work (a misnomer) states help keep the unions out. Most people are so dependent on their jobs.
Great when your employer can write a law saying you can't strike!

Seriously? Well before the USA was the USA. Corporations (well business entities) financed the settling of the Americas. They have always ruled.
Sorry but if you are talking about something else; please be more specific.
