Got deep pockets for the water bill?

You have your choice of two types of grass: hybrid bermuda and zoysia. The bermudagrass is most often T419, Tifway.

Two zoysias used often are Meyer and Zenith.

The over winter winter rye is sown so the lawns are green all year.

It takes about 60 inches of water a year to maintain turf. Imagine a swimming pool 5 feet deep over your lawn area....that's how much water you will use. Without knowing your lawn area or your water rates, I can't estimate the water bill.

If purchasing seed....look at the label carefully. You want the highest % pure seed. It will never be 100% but you want to be as close as possible. Also look for freshness......use by dates. Grass seed doesn't last.

As for grasses you sprig......I have no experience with purchasing that so can't help.

go native. it's the practical and ethical thing to do. own a golf course? no? then what possible reason could you have for growing lawn in arizona? think outside the "lawn box"; we don't live in the 1950s anymore.
