Firstly, one and a ninth = 1 + 1/9 = 9/9 + 1/9 = 10/9

Now, 9/(10/9) - invert the 10/9 and multiply

9 * 9/10 = 81/10

After your edit: 9/(1/9) = 9 * 9/1 = 81

1 1/9 = 10/9

Now do the division.

9 / (10/9)

Multiply numerator and denominator by 9.

9*9 / [9*(10/9)] = 81/10 = 8 1/10

9 / (1/9) = 81

9 / (1 1/9) = 9/(10/9) = 81/10= 8 1/10

to divide by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal (i.e., invert and multiply)

it will be like :
9/(1/9)
A/(B/C) = (AxC)/B

so 9/(1/9)=(9x9)/1=81
