Okay for those that have seen the classic movie starring Alan Arkin, please answer my questions. Who was the person that stabbed Yoosarian in the end? Why was there a repetitive flashbacks of the bombardier thing? Why did all the women get arrested?

If you could answer these questions, that would be great.
If you haven't seen the movie, watch it, it's a classic and it's funny.

Oh and what does catch-22 mean? when the women were captured, a lady kept saying catch-22.

The stabber was the character known as Nately's whore, who was after Yossarian as a kind of revenge because young Nately (played by Art Garfunkel) had died, and probably because Yossarian hadn't.
The flashbacks of the bombardier sequence echoing through the film are leading the viewer into the climactic, horrifying moments that drive Yossarian to totally reject the army, strip off his clothes and sit up in a tree, leading to his eventual hospitalization. The confrontation with the terrible death in the plane, and the realization that all the med supplies had been taken in a blackmarket deal, left Yossarian with nothing to help the victim but "There, there...there, there..."
The women were arrested for being prostitutes. As the war's progress went on, the military presence became more organized and restricted in the town, and all local activity of an illicit nature was curtailed.
Hope this helps untangle some of the mysteries.

Oh, and Catch 22? That's the catch that catches you, that makes no sense, that's war.

Who was the person that stabbed Yoosarian in the end?

You can tell immediately that it is a woman because she has panty-lines. The second time you see the scene she speaks Italian, so you can pretty much figure who it is. Nichols made a wardrobe choice that provided a clear enough clue for people who did not read the book. It is Nately's whore's kid sister.

I hate to be one of those guys who says, "Well the book was so much better than the move." with a snobbish grin on my face but I have to be that guy. I read the book and was seriously saddened by what I saw in the film. I know some things just cannot transfer from page to film but it would have served a much better purpose had the film been a mini-series, perhaps HBO or F/X would be willing to do a version worth its time.

Sorry, but I just didn't see the same picture you did.
