I need the answer and then please tell me how you got it.....
I need the median of these prices.....
$160,000 $150,000 $185,000, $180,000, $145,000 and $190,000

The median is the "middle" -- the middle of this is between 160 and 180 (half are above and half are below) so it 170,000

This is different than the mean which is the average which would be all 6 added together and then divided by 6. 168,333

You have to put the numbers lowest to highest. Median, you can remember as Medium or Middle. Because that is what Median is, the middle number. The numbers from least to greatest is 145, 150, 160, 180, 185, 190. Since only 6 numbers are given, then the middle would be between 160 and 180 right? You have to add both together which makes 340 and divide in half to get 170. That would be the middle of the number set even tho it isnt given. You would have to do that to even set numbers but dont for odd set numbers.

Median is the middle # when the numbers are in order. In this case, there is an even # of data, so you take the 2 middle #'s and average them.
145,000; 150,000; 160,000; 180,000; 185,000; 190,000
The middle numbers are 160,000 and 180,000. The average of those two numbers is 170,000- which is the median.

put them in order, then find the middle one
