I do stand up and put my hand on my heart. I frequently get the little hairs on my neck to stand up- especially when I think about what the words mean. Have you ever read the other verses? They will definately bring a tear to your eye.

Yes Ive had a few patriotic tears, but I usually dont put my hand across my heart or stand up. And I dont wear hats.

All of the above...except usually the tear is in my eye when the singer of the National Anthem is killing the song....I love the song, but it is really quite difficult to sing.

Yes of course...my husband is in the National Guard...he just left Iraq on Monday and guess what the homecoming is this Saturday! I am so excited i can't wait until the buses arrive...i am going to run like the wind to him!

only once when a WW2 vet sang it at a 4th of July thing here, and I always stand with my hand over my heart
