Easily pregnant second time?

Question

Why is it a woman who already has a child gets pregnant easily than before she had one?

I have heard jokes about not letting a man breath on you after your first child because conceiving after the first pregnancy is a breeze!! (Which was true in my case)

Wonder if there is a scientific reason behind it?!?!

It is possible for people to get so stressed up about becoming pregnant that they actually prevent it from happening. This happened to my sister who was desperate for a baby and waited 31/2 years to get pregnant. It didn't happen until her husband bought her a puppy. She conceived her next child straight away, born 4 weeks early, only10 months between the girls.

I would figure that it could be your so exhausted from the first baby that you just don't think about the timing of the deed as much as you did before the first one was made. I know that first year after my son was born I was thankful if I could remember what day of the week it was let alone when my last cycle started!

My totally unscientific opinion is that your body "knows" what to do and it just works better.

Sort of like you know your way around campus after a week.

However, I have had three friends who each had one baby and then were never able to conceive againl They are all thin, but NOT aneroxic, no reason was ever found.

P.S. The joke my mom always told (and she was pg NINE TIMES) was "Don't make your husband mad because if he even SAYS "F--- You" you'll be pregnant again!"

didn't work for me... we never used birth control between our children hoping to have them close together... my son is 4 and I'm gonna have another son in Nov. ... I thought it would never happen... but glad it did
