I will answer your question this way. A person can get a prescription for oxycontin, vicoden, percoset, or whatever.
I know, I can if I want to. These drugs, while prescribed, are much more dangerous than marijuana.
When I was very young, I used to smoke it. It's definitely not performance enhancing. If anything, it makes you hungry and puts you to sleep.
Now, I don't advocate drugs at all. I believe they lead you down the wrong path. But, if you're going to pick on drugs, pick on the ones that more accesible such as alcohol.
I did happen to read the article. It says they believe more than marijuana was used in the cookies.

You've got it mixed up. People who smoke marijuana and are homosexual are more likely to be social liberals.

Personally, I'm a conservative who disagrees with certain issues. Guess that makes me an independant, but I can't stand liberals.
That being said, I don't think marijuana is any more dangerous than alcohol when used in moderation. Actually, it's a LOT less dangerous than guns in the wrong hands. Just like guns don't kill people... people kill people. Drugs don't kill people... people who drive impaired kill people.
Whether you'd like to admit it or not marijuana in and of itself is safe. In your reference article the authorities even said they doubt it was ONLY marijuana in the cookies. If any authorities or the FDA actually came out and told the truth about marijuana there would be no reason to keep it illegal. This is one issue I wish people would just form their own opinion before they take every word the government says as gospel.

First of all the article says several times that other drugs were probably in the cookies because marijuana does not cause shortness of breath and a racing heartbeat.
Second, I don't know if anyone says it is safe. But it is certainly safer than another legal drug: alcohol.

I don't know about you, BushMember (that does NOT sound good), but the only dopers I know are the Hick Republicans that live in the trailer park down the road a piece.

I am definitely not a liberal but facts are facts. "Sickened" in this case meant felt funny (duh!)/upset stomach. Cigarettes and alcohol (a toxin) are worse and are legal. Alcohol's high is much less controllable. It is by far easier to control when legal then illegal. It really comes down to unequal penalties; like death for stealing a cookie and a small fine for robbing a bank.

Did you even read your own link? The cops think the cookies were laced with a DIFFERENT drug to have caused those symptoms. And what do liberals have to do with some idiot spiking dessert?

O'Hara said he believes more than marijuana was in the cookies based on the symptoms.

Even living, breathing and eating aren't completely safe.
Who thinks working in a coal mine or a nuclear power plant is safe?
Marijuana is just "safer" than most, if not all, other vices.

Liberals aren't the only ones who think weed is safe. You sound about as ignorant as I am.
