8 answers

1/2b + 4 = 1/8b + 88

Subtract 4 from both sides

1/2b = 1/8b + 84

Multiply both sides by 8

4b = b + 672

Subtract b from both sides

3b = 672

Divide by 3

b = 224

Hope this helps!

1/2b + 4 = 1/8b + 88
anything done to both sides doesnt change the result.
1/2b +4 -88 = 1/8b ( -88 both sides )
-84 = 1/8b - 1/2b ( - 1/2b both sides)
-84 = 1/8b - 4/8b ( 1/2 = 4/8 )
-84 = -3/8b
-84 * 8 = -3b (multiply by 8 )
-28* 8 = -b (divide by 3 )
b = 28*8
b = 224

1/2b + 4 = 1/8b + 88

Subtract 4 from both sides to get the numbers together:
1/2b = 1/8b + 84

Subtract 1/8b from both sides to get the "b"s together"
3/8b = 84

Multiply both sides by 8 to get rid of the fraction"
3b = 672

Divide both sides by 3:
b = 224

Plug 224 back in to the original equation to check:
1/2 (224) + 4 = 1/8 (224) + 88
112 + 4 = 28 + 88
116 = 116

you have to put the variables on one side and the constants on the other.
Take 1/8b from each side of the equation
1/2b -1/8b +4=1/8b-1/8b+88
and you now have 3/8b+4=88.
Now take 4 from each side of the equation
3/8b+4-4=88-4
and you now have 3/8b=84.

Now divide each side of the equation by 3/8
3/8b divided by 3/8=84 divided by 3/8.

b=224.

first get both variables on one side. since the 1/8b is positve on the right side u must subtract 1/8b from 1/2b leaving you with 3/8b + 4 = 88

next because 4 is positive u must subtract it from 88 giving you 3/8b = 84

finally since you are multiplying whatever B is by 3/8 you must divide 84 by it to get it to the other side b = 84 / 3/8

your answer is 224

First of all, I am assuming that the question is

(1/2) b + 4 = (1/8) b + 88

X both side of the eq by 8

4b + 32 = b + 704
- 32 - 32
4b = b + 672
-b -b

3b = 672
--- -----
3 3

b = 224

You need to isolate the variable. 1. Combine like terms. 5y - 2y = 3y + 2 => 3y = 3y + 2 2. Subtract the variable from the side with the number(I forgot the real teerms for doing this). 3y = 3y + 2 -3y -3y => 0 = 2 So this problem has no real solutions. You need to isolate the variable. 1. Combine like terms. 5x + 2 = 2x - 10 => 5x + 2 = 2x - 10 2. Subtract the variable from the side with the lone number(I forgot the real teerms for doing this). If lone numbers are on both sides, subtract one variable from both sides and subtract one lone number from both sides. 5x + 2 = 2x - 10 -2x -2x => 3x + 2 = -10 -2 -2 => 3x = -12 Solve. 3x = -12 ---- ----- 3 3 x = -4
