If I studied like on the weekends and read alot, and just wanted to become really educated and intelligent for school, would that be considered obsessive. I am going to take up some the South Asian(?) traits in their culture, and study AT LEAST..two-three hours a day outside of school. Would I be considered a nerdy loser if I did that though? I just really want to be aware of my surroudings involving things in which I am learning. Plus it will get me ready for college. Right? **Will this make me really intelligent if I am this passionate about education? Please tell me! <3

Go hard. Its all a good thing. The only advice i would give you is dont rub it in peoples faces how much you study or how much you know and try and take one day every week to hang out with friends. Intelligence is great but friends are better. Just dont let boys get in the way.

Reading and learning to become a better person is never a bad idea, however wasting time for somthing that never pays off is. College is good so study for that, but let's say you had an obsession with water polo, don't waste to much time reading about that.

Hi,
I would contradict most of the people. You would become nerd, if you do not go out for at least 1 hr. a day. Study is good and to experience the world is also important.
Go out and have some fun too.

NOT AT ALL are you obsessive if you want to better yourself with knowledge. The more you know the better off you are in life. Look at least you are trying to learn some people sit around on their butts eating and playing video games to the point that they do not leave the house. EDUCATE yourself and be PROUD!

GOOD FOR YOU~

No you would not be considered obsessive ...except by those who want you to hang out with them and not study and they feel inferior., and want to drag you down with them. I think it is neat myself, and that you are a very eager learner...about life in general and school stuff. You will go far in life..just dont forget to take a little time out to relax and be a young person. You just ignore them name callers...ok? You go and dream and dream big..then work hard for...it I have no doubt you can achieve whatever you want to do in life! You're a 1 in a million kid nowdays...I'm proud of you and I dont even know you personally...Go for it all ! - Joy

It's not obsessive. You are following your dream and unlike a lot of people you care about getting an education. It took me 10 years to get back into school, Now that I have gotten a GED I am now in college about to graduate!

Good luck and keep following your dream and heart.

Go for it! A good education will open a lot of doors for you after college. It is not obsessive-- being driven is a highly valuable trait in this country. Good luck!

I don't think it makes you obsessive, nerdy, or a loser. What it makes you is driven, determined, focused and quite intelligent.

In a pop culture that seems to put a premium on entertainment and escapism, a person like you is quite refreshing.
