i'm about to start my anime, but i just can't find the right colors for the main characters they are boy and girl and are a couple. what colors might be good. (remember it's anime, is has no bounds)

girl: light blue hair and purple eyes
boy: black hair and brown eyes.
i think that would be cool.

The boy's hair color should be black and his eyes should be green. For the girl, hair should be red and eyes blue. I think they would make a good couple.

I've watched alot of animes and here's my suggestions
Boy: Long black hair just like Yagami Light of Death note and blue eyes
Girl: Long light blue hair with either green or red eyes

Almost all Japanese have dark brown hair and brown eyes. To put in a little variety and to make it easer for Americans to tell the difference between the characters new hair and eye colors are often introduced. This is a quote from an official guide to anime.
The color depends on the time in history and their own history. For example a story set in Medieval Japan would probably only have a few different shades of brown, but a story set in the future would open the entire spectrum. A loud character would have loud hair. A character who is a loner might have blond hair and so be criticized for it; that is what happened to Itichygo in Bleach.
The Full Metal Alchemist is a blond and it fits his larger than life attitude. Mira, Max Sterling's wife of the Robotech saga had blue hair. As a Zentrada alien it was not out of line, she could naturally have had hair of that color.
Your characters should decide their eye and hair color, muted ones will favor muted colors. Armatage is a short Japanese cop on Mars with an attitude of steel. She flashes the audience the finger in the opening credits for her anime; so her red hair fits her well. Her husband is more mature, calmer and more traditional so his black hair suits him.
Silver or white would denote age or some shock, blue could be the cold blue steel of an automatic rifle or the gentle cool color of the ocean. Green could be a dark muted color like a forest, but one that shows a bold streak hidden inside. Red heads are traditionally though of as more wild and blonds have more fun. They are desired a little more because they are exotic.
Your eye color would be less important and confided to blue, green, gray, and brown. Red or orange eyes would denote vampiric, or supernatural or evil. Green eyes are extra special to the Chinese. Eyes can be steely gray that hide a cold nature lurking inside. Brown eyes would be typical. I once knew a girl with dark brown eyes that made her glance one that you could get lost in, she was cute and her wider looking eyes only accented her beauty.
Japanese anime have large eyes to make the characters look more beautiful, the wide open pupil is an unconscious sign of increased interest in humans. The larger eyes also make it possible to put more emotion in them. Have you ever seen Millhouse (of the Simpsons) with out his glasses, his eyes are just two specks. Do your characters wear glasses? In the anime series Read Or Die Agent Paper was forever pushing her glasses back on her nose. Her eye color matched her glasses and she was a muted and soft spoken character. The glasses of a librarian suited her. She could have worn coke bottle thick glasses like Millhouse does, but they were thinner. She could not pull off wide almost sunglasses frames. They would make her seem to loud and too curious.
Could one of your characters wear lightly darkened sunglasses, are their eyes light sensitive. Or are they cool and up to date the latest fashion and favor the sunglasses of Hollywood Stars?

purple is stable. truthfully, i could decide for sturdy organic accepted and secondary colorings. they could convey a powerful assessment; make the eyes pop. purple shows sturdy rage, yellow shows sturdy feral inclinations. That leaves blue, green, purple. Orange could be particularly cool, reckoning on the character of the character. it would be diverse, it particularly is for particular. desire this helps :)
