Well, the one in Egypt's the original, believed to be built in 331 B.C. By order of the Alexander the Great, of course, who, even as such a young king, could see the strategic advantage. It's still the biggest port in Egypt.
Alexandria, Virginia, is the biggest city in the US by that name, but there are towns in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Missouri, Minnesota, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and New Hampshire, at least. And Alexandria Bay in New York.
There's a city in Romania, also.
There are probably many more. Those are just the ones I've heard of. Heck, I've been to five of them! :)
