Anytime a news story is about drugs (legal or illegal) or chemical spills they never show the structure of the chemical with the news story.
I think this is censorship and it keeps the public from making informed decisions about health and environmental issues.
The big lure about drug abuse is the mystery, and showing the structures in the news would do much to lessen this mystery.
So, try calling your local TV station, ask them to start showing chemical structures in their news segments on drug/chemical issues.
This is a survey: please tell me what your station says. I am looking for one exception to this censorship rule.

That would certainly add to the entertainment value of the newscast. I can hardly wait for the anchor woman to giggle and say something like - "Did you see how that benzene ring always seems to show up on the top carbon atom? Speaking of showing up, did you see another cute puppy dog is lost in the north-side neighborhood."

Are you serious??? Showing the molecular formula for any drug is not going to lessen the drug problem. People don't get into drugs because of the mystery of the chemical structure. Censorship? Lmao. That's just hilarious. Have you been on drugs???

It's not censorship. None of the local TV anchors or reporters has ever taken a required course in chemistry while pursuing their degree in journalism at a university. My God! They can barely spell or pronounce "chemical structure".

Not a good idea i think! TV stations are not allowed to tell us the truth, just like the politicians, we're all mushrooms, growing in the dark....cheers.
