I am talking about the people that drive around in expensive cars and have really nice jobs. I am not talking about folks that earn low wages.

I say this because according to the US Census only 7% of Americans earn over $100k a year. That leads me to think lots of folks are living high on the hog!

I think that some times the more you have coming i the more you spend.......................for instance I know of military families [and I do not mean the lower rank ones] that really live pay check to pay check................and they are all but waiting with baited breath for the pay to drop on the 1st and the 15th........we try to have at least 6 months running money stashed away JUST IN CASE........so should things go belly up we would not be out on the streets at the first hiccup in life, something that we have REALLY drummed into our kids as well, and so far so good with them.

regards

A lot of those cars are company cars that companies use to pay less tax. Some are not paid off. If you make money and keep it in the bank you have to pay tax on the interest. Sometimes it is best to spend it. I wouldn't recommend spending it on a car as that depreciates in value but buying an investment property is the best way. You put all you extra money on the loan and eventually the house will be yours and it will be worth more than you paid for it. If you keep it it will be earning you money from the rent.

I have to agree with JD, people live irresponsibly beyond their means and then cry out for assistance from the government when their house of cards caves in.

A ton are acting like they have a wad of cash and half of the s.o.b.'s are getting cash off of me and I'm cutting them off. If you think I'm kidding, look at some of my questions I've asked in the past about people that live outside their means. Makes me sick.

Oh yes, I think most people live beyond their means. It's selfish, irresponsible and stupid. A sad commentary on people in this country.

I think a lot and that's sad. I always wonder why they didn't go out there and take the opportunities the US had to offer. But i don't blame them.
