Demons are a tools of fear created or accepted by many organized religions. Christianity being one of the foremost.
Most Pagans do not accept the actuality of such creatures. However, their are Grimores that may be studied.

There is so much information about demons and everyone will have their own ideas. However, it depends on why you need this information. Wanting to have a little fun, are we?
Several things you should know...Don't ever try to control a demon, you will never, ever have full control. Even if you ever do learn it's "true name"... which is pretty impossible since demons lie all the time.
Their presence is almost always notable by a foul smell of sulfur, decay, death...
Possession are something altogether different. It will not be like Excorcist the movie... there are times you will never know a person is possessed until the very end. The history of demons goes back as far as the dawn of time and characteristics... well they can look just like you and me if they so choose.
If you need any other information, assuming you don't want to go out and play with them, I'd be more than happy to give you answers.

If you want to learn about the subject without having to sort through a lot of anonymous answers by strangers, about whom you know nothing, including whether they know anything, there's a way to learn.

Demonology is the subject you want to study. A Ouija board is dangerous to use but it will contact evil entities. On the T.V. show Ghost Hunters they have a demonologist on the team just in case. Very fascinating subject to study but I hope I never have a first hand experience. I have enough trouble chasing my own demons!!!! )0(

To learn from a Christian perspective (if that's what you're after) I recommend the book "Deliver Us From Evil" by Don Basham. It scared the pee out of me, probably because I was seven when I read it, and I wouldn't open my mouth for a week b/c I was afraid a demon would fly in!

What I know concerning demons can not be summed up in a short paragraph. I have removed from others. I have removed from places and there a multiple characteristics.You can feel free to pick my brain if you have the desire and drive to do so.

They hate you with a diabolical passion. There have been possesions, but it is rare. Lucifer was an angel of great beauty and light, but he thought he was the cause of this beauty and refused to serve the God who created him, and pride was his downfall, and so God created hell, an eternal place for the devils )fallen angels) but humans will go there to if they choose to.
