My sister found out today that she is having a baby boy. Of course, we had a girls name picked out.... It will be the first boy in our family. Since my husband and I aren't able to have children...she has asked me to name him...( I also chose my niece's name which is Alli Klaire). I am just asking for some ideas....I think Alex would go well with Alli but I'm having trouble with a middle name....also any other first name ideas would be great! I like names that are short and not difficult to pronounce....my sister does too! :) Thanks for your help!

Alex is a solid name. Perhaps, you could use his mother's surname if it would sound appropriate. Although, Alexander is nice as well. It's not too long, but it has a stronger presence than Alex. Alexander Michael is a good choice, but not too long. You can also nickname him Alex.

Other names I can think of that are short:
Luke
Martin
Liam
Tim.. (I'd go /w with Timothy and use Tim as a nickname)
Marc
Justin
Josh
Joss
Ted
Andy
Allan
Drew
Sean
Lee or Leigh
Saul
Sam (Samuel)
Gabe(Gabriel)
Rob (Robert)
Victor
Jim, Jimmy, or James
Jack
Madison
John
Troy
Brad
Steve
Doug
Kevin

That's just a few that I can think of atm.

I think Alex is too close to Alli. Imagine trying to yell at them. One of my students had a son named Tyler and daughter named Taylor - it was a nightmare to them. The boy went by TJ.

If the name is pronounced "AL-ee" I would go for something that echoes the sound but not exactly. Maybe:

Daniel _____ (maybe Alec, Cole, Mason)
Neil _____ (Carson, Cooper, Justice)
Gabriel Jude
Miles _____ (Garrett, Tanner, Trevor, Wesley)

Alexander Kaden

I like Aden Kyle the best.
Good luck!

ok, i have a cousin who's name is Alexander Lee (alex for short) so if you are really pulling for the name alex, i think that lee would be a good middle name. but as far as first names go for a boy, i think Levi is cute.

We were going to name our baby Owen or Nolan if it was a boy. We had a little girl though. Our middle name we had chosen for both those names was James ironically enough. Good luck.
