4 speakers plus a subwoofer is 4.1 surround sound.

4.1
4 = Number of speakers less subwoofer
.1 = With subwoofer; .0 = Without subwoofer

Most newer PCs come with 7.1 integrated sound that is compatible other speaker types. Check with your computer manufacturer before you install a sound card.

Switch out the sound card from the old computer and put it in the new computer. Or buy a new surround sound card.

The only way, Paul, is to install a 5.1 sound card. (It slips into a free PCI slot ... usually coloured white.) Unfortunately, to do this means you having to take the side off your computer, which will invalidate your warranty.
